Aftercare Instructions :
-
Never listen to a friends advice or google
-
leave your second skin bandage on for 4-7 days
-
Please refer to 'SECOND SKIN BANDAGE PAGE FOR FIRST THE HALF OF AFTERCARE"

After the bandage is removed care :
-
Do not re bandage your tattoo once it is taken off.
Daily care will be maintained until healed around 3-4 weeks
-
Wash your tattoo once a day before bed with your non scented soap pat dry with paper towel or a clean towel.
* If it comes in to contact with anything weird or foreign wash it. -
Lotion, listen to your body. always use NON scented lotion you can use it as much as you feel as though you need, rule of thumb is if its dry and itchy lotion it , sometimes its once a day sometimes its a couple times, you will know what's best for you.
-
During this time, you will also experience the dreaded tattoo itch. Some may experience a mild itch, while others will experience an intense itch. Your skin will be dry and flakey as it heals, so some level of itchiness is to be expected.
-
Although it may take every ounce of willpower, do not scratch your new tattoo. Not only could this affect how it looks, but you can also cause infection or irritation. Eventually, the itch should subside.
* Lotioning and washing it helps speed up this process. -
Flaking is simply your body shedding its outermost layer of skin, But this time, the skin has been damaged and filled with ink, so it comes off in larger flakes and full of color.
-
If you see your tattoo flaking, don’t be alarmed. This is not a sign that ink is being removed from the skin. Just make sure you let your tattoo flake naturally.
-
As long as you’re not picking at it, scrubbing at it, or peeling the flaky skin off, you should be fine.
-
I would consider scabbing normal, but not ideal in tattoo healing, Scabbing is what happens when the plasma is not efficiently cleaned off of the tattoo after your body is finished producing it (usually between the first 24-48 hours) and it evaporates and dries. The second skin bandages helps avoid this step if left on. If you get any scabbing please do not pick at them, continue to wash and lightly moisturize your tattoo as instructed.
Lotions and soaps :
-
Aquaphor is a commonly recommended part of a tattoo aftercare regimen. It has hydrating and anti-inflammatory properties that can speed healing and make the process more comfortable.
-
Aveeno skin relief lotion hydrates your tattoos with the natural ingredient and never worry about chemicals or additives.
-
Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash is formulated with glycerin, which is a humectant that works like a sponge to help the skin retain moisture and is ideal for a healing tattoo.
-
Dove unscented body soap is a good option too it is unscented & hypoallergenic .
Lotions not to use :
-
Petroleum jelly products, such as brand-name Vaseline, work by trapping moisture into your skin. ... However, Vaseline isn't a good option for tattoos. This is because the moisture-trapping effects also block your new tattoo wound from getting air. Air moving over a wound helps the healing process.
-
Antibiotic ointments such as bacitracin, Neosporin, and polysporin will heal your tattoo too quickly and can push ink out in the process. We always say not to use this unless you believe you have a infection. Which if that is the case you should see your family doctor immediately.
-
Avoid scented soaps and lotions if it does say " non scented fragrance free" don't use it, it will irritate your skin which can fade your tattoo, create itchy dry skin that furthers irritation and will lengthen the healing process. The chemicals used in scented soaps don't work well with a brand new tattoo so please avoid this.
THINGS NOT TO DO :

-
No form of submerging your tattoo in any type of body of water.
*This includes hot tubs, pools, lakes, oceans, baths, rivers. No water that you submerge your tattoo in is safe!
*There's all sorts of things floating around in water and this is how people get infections so stay away for 3 weeks please!
*Showers are fine just avoid getting shampoo or conditioner on it
-
No scratching, picking or touching your tattoo! Keep you dirty fingers away from you tattoo! This creates white blotches in you tattoo where the pigment comes out. So leave it alone If it is itchy then pat it or rub lotion into it, it will help get rid of that itch.( make sure you have clean hands.)
-
Stay out of the sun! This includes suntan beds! For 1 month it will fade your tattoo at a faster rate when it is fresh compared to healed if exposed to the sun.
-
No gym for minimum 7 days. Take a break its not the end of the world.
* This can cause irritation and sweat pimples. Also there is all sorts of nasty bacteria on the equipment so just avoid it.. -
If your tattoo is over a high movement/friction area
example (elbow, ditch, armpit, knee, ribs, hips) you may experience longer healing periods, or more scabbing.*To avoid this please try to wear clothes that don't rest or rub on your tattoo. Also you might have to lotion these areas more frequently. It will make the healing process better for you

Tattoo Flu :
-
I always say to eat a good meal before and after your tattoo because that fuel is necessary for your body during the tattoo process and healing process. you don't want your immune system working with no fuel you will get sick .
-
Getting tattooed Innates a immune responses, it is a general reaction to foreign material entering the body. So getting a new tattoo triggers your immune system to send white blood cells called macrophages to eat invaders and sacrifice themselves to protect against infection. Your body also launches what immunologists call adaptive responses.
-
So Please take extra care of yourself after your app , take your vitamins , drink water and don't skip meals.
Medical Reactions :
-
So you should always be watching the health of your healing tattoo there is some common reactions and some that are not so common.
-
So there is a couple different things that can happen while your tattoo is healing. It is all relative to how well you are taking care of your tattoo day to day it could be as small as a rash, sweat pimples, allergic reaction to as big as a infection. It would be silly to pretend like these things don't happen.
* I can let you know if you need to simply pick up a hydro cortisone cream or contact your family dr. -
Do I see these happen often? the answer is no... typically when these do happen its from silly things that could be avoided like going to the beach the day after your tattoo, going to the gym or cuddling your pets right after taking the bandage off.
* these are all easily avoidable if you follow the aftercare -
It is normal to feel stingy, swollen and tight for the first couple days.
* Icing it and elevation helps relieve that faster. -
Also some people get bruising around the area, typically this is based on how easily you bruise and the location. For example inner arm is more likely then outer arm.
when being tattooed we do push down on the area constantly so bruising is fairly normal.
* I don't see this one as often but it definitely does sometimes. -
